WEST DES MOINES, IOWA – June 1, 2023 – The Coalition to Support Iowa’s Farmers (CSIF) is excited to welcome Maddilyn Klemme to the team as their 2023 Communications Intern.
Klemme will help advance CSIF’s mission of supporting farmers as they raise livestock responsibly and successfully through assisting with content creation, event planning, and maintaining strong industry relations.
Klemme will be a junior at Iowa State University this fall studying agricultural communications and minoring in animal science and public relations. In addition to her studies, Klemme is also active in many organizations on campus, including Agriculture Communicators of Tomorrow, Block and Bridle, Collegiate Cattlemen, CALS Ambassadors, CALS Council and the ISU National Agri-Marketing
Association Chapter. Prior to attending Iowa State, Klemme grew up on her family’s cattle and row crop farm in eastern Iowa. Growing up, she was actively involved in both 4H and FFA spending time in livestock, communication, photography, and equipment restoration projects at the county and state levels.
“The agriculture industry has played a major role in my life and is something I am very passionate about. Learning how to better advocate and communicate for producers allows me to find a way to give back to the industry I care so deeply about. Joining the CSIF team will allow me to do just that as their 2023 Communications Intern, where I will expand my knowledge, develop communication skills, and build strong relationships with Iowa farm families.” says Klemme.
CSIF is a non-profit organization that assists livestock farmers who want help interpreting rules and regulations, guidance on good site locations for barns, counsel on enhancing neighbor relations and tips on how to protect the environment at no cost. This positive, solutions-based approach to helping livestock farmers grow is a collaborative effort involving the Iowa Beef Industry Council, Iowa Cattlemen’s Association, Iowa Corn Growers Association, Iowa Farm Bureau Federation, Iowa Pork Producers Association, Iowa Poultry Association, Iowa Soybean Association, Iowa Turkey Federation, Midwest Dairy and North Central Poultry Association.
